The Sea Explorers Dive Center is located inside Pura Vida Beach & Dive Resort directly on the beach. The area around Dauin has a huge diversity in different dive spots. Known as a “Muck”-Diving area with lots of sand and very rare critters, like clown frogfish, seahorses, ghost pipefish, blue ring octopus, flamboyant cuttlefish and many more. Beside those amazing critters a great amount of fish can be found in different sanctuaries around the coastal line. There are about 30 excellent & exciting dive sites that offer world-class macro and night dives – a paradise for underwater photographers. Apo Island, Masaplod Norte Sanctuary and some other dive sites around Dauin are also excellent for snorkelers.
Apo Island is only a 45 min boat ride away with amazing sizes of hard and soft corals. Turtles are always dive buddies around that island and a healthy amount of fish can be seen there on every dive. Some dive sites can have strong currents depending on the moon phrase of the month, but Apo has divesites for all kind of divers, from beginners to professional divers, everybody will be always fascinated by the sizes, colors and amount of corals growing on that beautiful piece of paradise. The scenery with its powder white sand and lime stones is absolutely unique and make that place very special, for the local people living there as the divers and tourists coming to visit.
Sumilon Island Is located at the southern part of Cebu and has beautiful walls which are filled with corals on one side and on the other side of the island you find nice sloping reefs with sightings of whitetip- or blacktip-reef-sharks. Beside this island the little town Oslob lies in a small bay at the mainland of Cebu. Here only big things will be seen, as the whalesharks are coming here daily for their breakfast snack. The local fisherman started to feed these gentle giants a few years ago and since then, Oslob is on their list while migrating to catch some nice breakfast for a couple of days before they continue traveling to the other areas of the Philippines.
Four well maintained dive boats are waiting to bring the divers to different dive sites and daytrips.
